FAQ

Common questions

What's the difference between Type I and Type II?

Type I assesses control design at a point in time. Type II tests whether controls operated effectively over a period, typically 3–12 months. Most enterprise buyers ask for Type II.

Can an Indian company get a SOC 2 report?

Yes. SOC 2 reports are issued by licensed CPA firms, many of which audit Indian companies. We help you select and work with one.

Can SOC 2 and ISO 27001 be done together?

Yes. The frameworks overlap significantly, so one control set and evidence base can serve both.

How much does a SOC 2 audit cost?

There are two parts: readiness consulting and the CPA firm's audit fee. Both depend on scope and the criteria included. We'll estimate both during scoping.

Which Trust Services Criteria should we include?

Security is mandatory. Add Availability, Confidentiality, Processing Integrity or Privacy only if your customers need them — more criteria means more effort.

How long does it take to get a SOC 2 Type II report?

Typically 6–12 months: a few months of readiness, an observation period of at least three months, then the audit and report.

Can we share the SOC 2 report publicly?

SOC 2 reports are restricted-use and are usually shared with customers under NDA. A SOC 3 report can be shared publicly if you need one.
