FAQ

Common questions

Can a vDPO act as our DPO under the DPDP Act?

Significant Data Fiduciaries must appoint a DPO based in India who represents the organisation. We'll advise on the right structure for your situation.

Do you cover GDPR too?

Yes. We run one privacy programme covering DPDP, GDPR and other applicable laws.

What does a vDPO do day to day?

Maintains privacy records, reviews new processing activities, handles rights requests and complaints, advises teams and reports to leadership.

Do we need a DPO if we're not a Significant Data Fiduciary?

A DPO isn't mandatory, but you still need a contact for data-related questions and a working privacy programme. A vDPO covers both efficiently.

Can a vDPO handle data breach notifications?

Yes. The vDPO assesses breaches, coordinates with your incident team and prepares notifications to the Data Protection Board and affected individuals.
