API Penetration Testing

APIs are where your data actually lives, and where authorisation mistakes turn into data breaches. We test every endpoint for who can call it, what it returns, and how it can be abused at scale.

Why teams choose Adiroha

  • Manual-first testing, not scanner dumps
  • OSCP, OSWE and CEH certified testers
  • Findings mapped to ISO 27001, SOC 2 and PCI DSS controls
  • Retest and closure letter to prove fixes

Scope

What we cover

  • Broken object- and function-level authorisation
  • Excessive data exposure and mass assignment
  • Authentication, token handling and key leakage
  • Rate limiting, resource exhaustion and abuse
  • GraphQL introspection, batching and depth attacks
  • Third-party and partner API integrations

Deliverables

What you receive

  • Endpoint-by-endpoint findings with request/response evidence
  • OWASP API Top 10 mapping
  • Developer-ready remediation guidance
  • Retest and closure letter

How we work

Discover. Assess. Remediate. Validate.

01

Discover

Agree scope, assets, test windows and rules of engagement. Every project gets a unique audit code for tracking.

02

Assess

Manual-first testing aligned to recognised standards, with critical issues flagged to you immediately.

03

Remediate

Findings ranked by business impact, with clear fix guidance and a walkthrough with your engineers.

04

Validate

We retest your fixes, update the report and issue a closure letter you can share.

FAQ

Common questions

What do you need to start?

An API specification (OpenAPI/Swagger, Postman collection or GraphQL schema) and test credentials for each role.

Can you test APIs without documentation?

Yes, by capturing traffic from your web or mobile app. Documentation simply helps us reach full coverage faster.

Why test APIs separately from the web application?

APIs often expose more data and functions than the user interface shows. Testing them directly finds authorisation flaws that UI-based testing misses.

Do you test internal and partner APIs?

Yes. We test public, partner and internal APIs, provided we have network access and credentials for each.

Can API testing be built into our release process?

Yes. After the first full test, we can recommend automated API security checks for your CI/CD pipeline, with periodic manual retesting.
